Castle Freak (1995)

Castle Freak
This film may have a deceptively cliché name and has some mixed reviews but don’t let that stop you watching it. This film is a great horror movie and will almost certainly not disappoint you. It’s about a Castle Freak in essence left alone after the departure of his caretaker. A family inherit an Italian castle only to find it holds within it a dark secret, the Castle Freak. A mixture of Frankenstein and Edward Scissor hands this film allows the viewers to empathise with the Castle Freak and his inability to interact with girls. It takes it to the extent that when his hands are blood stained, you don’t really care that much anyway which makes for a fantastic moving horror and a unique film.
Jeffery Combs, his wife and blind daughter played by Barbara Crampton and Jessica Dollarhide move into the castle unaware of the Castle Freak chained in the dungeons below. Somehow, the Castle Freak escapes and we have the pleasure of viewing some pretty disturbing gory scenes courtesy of Full Moon. The characters of this film are well developed, expertly handled and with some convincing and aptly placed dialogue. This film is strictly a tragedy so if you are hoping for a few laughs you won’t be entertained. A great horror film to watch.

Carrie (1976)

Carrie
Little known to some this great horror film was a few reference to Norman Bates the main character of the film Psycho. The high school is called Bates High and the Psycho chords are used repeatedly during this film so listen out for them. Sissy Spacek plays Carrie White, a young troubled girl with the ability to move things with her mind. As you can probably guess it all goes horribly wrong for Carrie and her classmates when things get out of control on prom night. Carrie is a young teenager struggling to fit in and survive her obsessively religious mother. Carrie, made in 1976 has been a classic horror ever since with the impressive image of Carrie drenched in blood haunting its viewers.
This film was definitely the turning point for Sissy Spacek and John Travolta that saw their careers excel and bloom. The film expertly handles character development and plot with not a single line sounding false or forced. The film is not overly gory nor does it hold back, it is the perfect balance of blood and violence where appropriate and does not rely purely on it to captivate the audience. This film handles the genre particularly well and will remain a horror classic for years to come.

This attacking alligator prop is realistic animated alligator that lunges forward and snaps at your guest or friends. This alligator prop is fast moving and can go forward to about 5 feet. Nevertheless, it will surely scare and startle people. The alligator also makes fierce sounds along with his quick movement and snapping. This prop is extremely durable.

Hannibal Review
Movie Rating 8/10
Doctor Hannibal Lector is back in this amazing and suspenseful flick, Hannibal. Hannibal is a must have movie and one of the best film in the series. In this suspenseful film, Hannibal is now located in Europe, specifically Florence, Italy. Mason Verger, which was a victim of Hannibal Lector, resides in America and is now seeking revenge after Lector. Not only is he being tracked down by Mason, but the FBI and agent Clarice Starling is also on the hunt for him. Hannibal stars Anthony Hopkins, Julianne Moore, Gary Oldman, Ray Liotta, and Giancarlo Giannini.
This film is highly recommended to both horror fans along with thriller and suspense fans. Hannibal is great horror film featuring Anthony Hopkins role as Hannibal Lector to the role of the vengeful Mason Verger played by Gary Oldman. Not to mention other famous actors and actresses that star in this film Such as Julianne Moore as Clarice Starling and Gary Oldman as Mason Verger. All of these actors played their roles incredibly well including the other actors and actresses involved as well in Hannibal. I specifically like the way that Anthony Hopkins portrays and plays Hannibal Lector as the thrillingly evil character Lector is, I also enjoyed and was surprised at how well Gary Oldman played Mason Verger, superb acting from Oldman by playing the disfigured character of Mason Verger. During the end of the film, Hannibal finally gets taken to his enemy, Verger. More suspense arrives as he finally has Hannibal trapped and helpless. Hannibal just waits for Agent Starling to show up to his rescue. The movie is full of suspense and thrills. The film has its horror moments for the audience to remember along with its intense and suspenseful scenes. It’s definitely a movie I would recommend buying.
Seed of Chucky Review

Film rating: 7/10
Gore level: 2.5/5
Seed of Chucky is a comedy of horror! Chucky is back and is looking for more action in this comedy and horror movie. But Chucky and Tiffany aren’t the only ones that are back, their child Glen, is also introduced in this film. This time Hollywood wants to create a film based on the legends and exploits of Chucky and Tiffany. However, Chucky and Tiffany get brought back from the dead as their son, Glen, travels to Hollywood to bring them back alive. Once they’re back, they want to continue on their murderous rampage. Tiffany tries to stay away from violence, however, their son Glen wants to follow her by that rule, whereas Chucky still can’t believe his own son, Glen, doesn’t want to experience the joys of killing. Eventually Chucky and Tiffany have their murderous killing sprees with a surprise ending with Glen. The film also stars Jennifer Tilly, not only as the Tiffany we know, but even as herself in the film. Chucky and Tiffany again try to posses the bodies of humans and Tiffany tries to enter the body of Jennifer Tilly. The film stars Brad Dourif, Jennifer Tilly, Billy Boyd, and Redman.
Seed of Chucky has a different feel from the original Child’s Play series, as I guess this is due to the fact that he now has a family. Nevertheless, it still includes some horror and gore scenes along with more comedy scenes that are involved. Seed of Chucky is more about laughs and evil wit and less suspense and horror compared to the original Child’s Play series. Although, I have to say I do prefer the original Child’s Play series when Chucky was on his own and had his own murderous sprees because those were the classic horror films we remembered back then. The original Child’s Play series was more about horror and suspense of the Chucky doll, and now, the newer Chucky films such as Bride of Chucky and this film, Seed of Chucky, do contain horror scenes however they involve more comedy and evil witty scenes. If you are a fan of Chucky, then I recommend this movie, but if you like the classic horror Chucky in the Child’s Play movie series, you can still give it a try, it just involves more comedy. And if you like horror and comedy mixed into one film, then I highly recommend Seed of Chucky to you.
